Awareness Training is now available in addition to our Three Levels of Accredited Training
The Awareness presentation has been designed to prepare those staff in your school or setting who are not required by: the DfE Guidance – Supporting Pupils with Medical Conditions – December 2015, to undergo accredited training, as they do not give prescription medicines or undertake healthcare procedures in their role or responsibility.
This presentation will give awareness of the roles and responsibilities of the staff members engaged in Managing Medication in a School or Childcare Setting, and an understanding of Statutory Guidance and the Legislation that must be followed.
This Training is only available as an inset session with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 50 delegates to those settings who have Staff already trained to the appropriate level for Managing Medication.
Course Duration – 2hrs (can be a twilight session).

Half-Day Course Summary
Half-Day - Managing Medication in an Educational or Childcare Setting.
Accredited Level 1

Course Duration - Half-day 9.00am to 12.30pm
Content - delegates will receive instruction on the classification of medicines, legislation and latest guidelines on the safe management of medication in schools and the best practice currently sought.
Description
This half-day course is accredited and endorsed by NOCN to be comparable to working at Vocational Qualifications Level 1; GCSE's graded D-G / 1-3; Level 1 Award, Certificate, Diploma, NVQ Level 1. Designed to help understanding of key medication related issues, to examine current practice and develop improved and safer practice. Explore information and guidelines regarding medication management. Learn how to work within the parameters of the regulations and set appropriate policy and practice. Learn how to reduce risk by ensuring that the best interests of the child and setting are pursued.
This course is designed for the busy school environment by enabling key staff members time away from their teaching and curriculum duties.
It can also be designed to fit into your Inset days or via group sessions. Group or full day bookings are priced depending on needs of the school.
